Stamped Mallard Card

A couple male friends of ours had surgery this week and I wanted to send them a masculine themed card. My time this week is limited and so were my ideas so I pulled out my rubber stamps and went to work.  They both live on waterfront property so the mallard worked well for my needs. The stamp I used is from Impression Obsession. They have a web site and sell great quality deep etched rubber stamps . They offer a variety of types of stamps by several different designers, something for practically everybody.    Anyway, I stamped sentiments on the inside of the card   and decorated the envelopes with stamps designed for envelopes, also in the mallard theme, and I think by the same artist. My dh and I signed them, added postage stamps, and they're ready to go.......just a way to show our friends that we are thinking of them as they recover.

Christmas time is coming !

I fell in love with the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page  Snowflake set as soon as I saw it. I was playing with it today and this is what I came up with...the same punch, same rubber stamp, and same papers used alittle differently. Quick and Easy.I used both the negative and postive and some random sprinkling of snowflakes with a little ink, glue , and glitter ...that's it. Both designs are on white cardstock but that doesn't show up well in the scan.   I might use this design for some of my many Christmas cards this year.

Simple Christmas Card

This card was so easy to make....just some red and green paper mounted on white with "ribbon candy" punched ribbon (Martha Stewart punch). The little Christmas tree is from a set of mini ornaments that I bought on clearance at Walmart after Christmas last year. I love this punch. It's so festive looking and makes me think of the ribbon candy we had each year at Christmas time when I was a little girl.

Random Thoughts and Resulting Cards

When I go into my craft room I don't usually have a plan of any kind. Sometimes I might just go in to look at something and suddenly find myself making a card or working on a scrapbook page.  This card came about when I happenned to think about the beautiful papers I was "saving". A friend (Thanks, Gayla ! ) sent them to me a few months ago and I love them. They are from the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime collection.  The stamped sentiment is from KAndrew's  Fashionable Friends stamp set.
Next I found myself playing with some die cuts I had cut with my Imagine. I had already assembled the card so I added the die cut with a pop dot and randomly grabbed my metalic rub ons. Suddenly my white background on the card was blue !

I had still more die cuts sitting right there in front of me and put this card together in no time at all. It will wait with the others in my "stash" waiting to go to the right person at the right time.

I found myself making Christmas cards next, several of them.  I'll post them tomorrow or another day soon..........I do love my crafting toys and supplies. It's so much fun to be able to take a break from other less fun things and  make something that will eventually bring a  smile to someone I care about !

My First Christmas Cards of 2011

It seems like suddenly it's almost Christmas time and even though I say every year my cards will be done well in advance of the holiday it never quite seems to happen. I do have some left over from last year  but the time has come to get busy if I'm going to have enough ready on time for this Christmas season.  I usually make close to 200 cards because we have a church "post office" and a large congregation in addition to our family and personal friends .I have to keep them fairly simple because of the quantity I have to make !  Here are my first few for 2011.
This card was made with my favorite Bazill card stock  and  one of my newest Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page sets.  I love MS punches because of their excellent quality and ease of use !

I didn't get this one straight on my scanner so it looks like I made it crooked...I didn't.  This card is a variation of the first one using the same papers and two of my other favorite MS punches along with one of my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders in my Sizzix Big Shot machine.

This card is incomplete but I included it just to show how just a couple flood fills and cuts with the Cricut Imagine can  so quickly and easily turn into a card for any occasion. I love my Imagine !

I hope that you are all enjoying the preparation for the busiest card making season of the year !

Simply Fabulous !

This was a super quick and easy card made with my Cricut Imagine. The sentiment is from KAndrews Fashionable Friends Art Stamps set.

Shower Girl

I've had this idea in my head for a while and finally put it together. I  used my Cricut Imagine and Expression machines to cut out the paper doll, bathtub, clothes and doggie.  The clothing is from a regular Paper Dolls cartridge, flood filled with a paper from my Imagine (Bubble Gum Stripes cartridge). The tile wall is reminiscent of the 50's and 60's when most bathroom walls and floors were made of tile just like that. There is a transparency over that with white flowers on it which I used for a shower curtain.  The sentiment is from kAndrew's Fashionable Friends Art Stamp set.
